Microsoft Access

Recently we played around with Microsoft Access which lets you manage databases, these databases are organised into tables and we can query the database within Access. Queries are essentially commands againts the database for example we can run a query that only shows us a particular field like for example a database showing all hotels we can run a query that only shows us 1* hotels.

More openproj

Today I did an activity with openproj, we had to plan a cruise and include milestones in it, which was pretty tough as we had to use new stuff in openproj that we never used before. Overall the activity was very interesting.

Installed Firefox!

Today we installed firefox a popular browser which is better than the outdated internet explorer and safari browsers that we were using. We had a problem shortly after installing because we needed to manually configure firefox to connect through the internet through a proxy, however we quickly overcame the problem and managed to successfully connect to the internet with firefox. Then we all made an account over at delicous I already had an account which I created last lesson, the site allows you to conveniatly manage all your bookmarks instead of having a hundred different bookmarks all in your browser which can be a nightmare to use.

MacSpeech Dictate is Awesome...

Hey today we trained our Macspeech dictate program to interpret our voices which makes it easier to use the macs as it listens to our voices which saves us time. Its not perfect though i left the mic in a open space and it posted some strange things which is weird, it would be good if it ignored all other voices but our own other than that the program is awesome.
